At PoleRise, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and safeguard your personal information when you use the PoleRise app ("App"). PoleRise is a service developed and operated by Appiplan Inc., a registered company based in the United States. You will be asked to agree to this Privacy Policy during registration. By using the App, you confirm your acceptance of the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

Personal Information

When you register an account, we collect your name and email address. Students provide payment information (e.g., credit card details) to pay for services, and instructors provide payment information (e.g., bank account details) to receive fees. Instructors may also provide additional details such as profile photos, bio, and pricing set for each video in the 'Watch, Ask, Improve' section. We may collect identity verification information (e.g., government-issued ID) if required by law for payment compliance or to prevent fraudulent activity, such as impersonation or misuse of content. We collect this information to fulfill our contract with you (e.g., to provide services). Uploaded videos may contain identifiable personal data such as your voice or appearance. We treat such data with the same level of protection as other personal information under this policy.

Content and Activity Data

We collect content you submit, such as questions, feedback, videos, and messages between students and instructors. We also track your activity on the App, including videos watched, questions asked, and responses provided. We collect this information based on our legitimate interest to improve the App's functionality.

Device and Usage Information

We collect information about your device (e.g., IP address, device type, operating system) and how you use the App (e.g., pages visited, time spent). We may use Cookies or similar technologies to collect this information (see Section 7 for details). We collect this information based on our legitimate interest to enhance user experience.

Location Information

With your consent, we may collect your location to provide location-based features. You can disable this at any time in your device settings.

Social Media Information

If you log in using a social media account (e.g., Facebook, Google), we may collect information such as your social media username or profile details, depending on the permissions you grant. We collect this information with your consent.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

To provide and improve the App's services, such as facilitating communication between students and instructors, processing payments, and delivering personalized content.
To enhance platform features, including analyzing user behavior to improve functionality and user experience.
To train our algorithms and improve recommendations, such as suggesting relevant videos or instructors.
To communicate with you, such as sending notifications, updates, or promotional offers (you can opt out of marketing communications).
To ensure safety and security, including detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, or illegal activities.
To comply with legal obligations, such as payment compliance or responding to legal requests.

How We Share Your Information

We may share your information in the following ways:

With Other Users

Students' questions and feedback may be visible to instructors, and instructors' videos and responses may be visible to students, as part of the App's functionality.

With Service Providers

We share information with third-party service providers (e.g., payment processors, cloud storage providers) to support App operations. These providers are bound by confidentiality agreements.

For Legal Reasons

We may share information if required by law, such as in response to a court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of PoleRise, its users, or the public.

In Business Transactions

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction.

With Your Consent

We may share your information for other purposes if you provide explicit consent.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide services. Upon account termination, your personal information will be deleted within 6 months, unless we are legally required to retain it for longer (e.g., for tax or payment compliance purposes). For instructors, once a video is uploaded—whether in draft or published form—it cannot be permanently deleted from the platform. However: * You may edit your content at any time. * You may mark content as deleted in your account, which removes it from your public profile and makes it invisible to new students. * Students who have already purchased your videos will retain lifetime access to those videos, even after they are marked as deleted or your account is terminated. However, students may only ask questions within 60 days of purchase or until they mark the video as completed—whichever comes first. If no student has ever purchased a video, you may request its permanent deletion by contacting us at general@polerise.app. Upon verification, we will remove it from the platform. After the 60-day question window or once a student marks a video as completed (whichever comes first), any remaining earnings will become eligible for withdrawal. Instructors may request a payout once their eligible earnings reach USD $20 or above. PoleRise will cover any third-party processing fees associated with the payout. If you wish to delete your instructor account, you must withdraw any eligible earnings before requesting deletion. Once your account is deleted, you will no longer be able to access the platform or request withdrawals. Your profile and associated content will be removed from all public-facing areas of the platform. PoleRise retains anonymized data derived from your content indefinitely, which may be used for analytics and to improve the platform's functionality and services.

Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your information:

Access and Update

You can access and update your personal information through your account settings.

Delete

You can request deletion of your personal information by contacting us, subject to legal or operational requirements. Before instructors delete their account, they must withdraw any remaining eligible earnings. Once an account is deleted, instructors will no longer be able to access or claim any outstanding balances. For eligible withdrawals that meet the minimum payout threshold, PoleRise will cover all applicable third-party transaction fees. Any videos purchased by students will remain in their Learning History.

Data Portability

You can request a copy of your personal information in a structured, commonly used format by contacting us.

Opt-Out

You can opt out of marketing communications by adjusting your notification settings or contacting us.

To exercise these rights, please contact us at the email address provided in Section 13 and include your account details for verification. We will respond to your requests within 30 days, though this may be extended to 60 days if necessary (e.g., for complex requests), as permitted by applicable laws.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use Cookies and similar technologies to enhance your experience, such as remembering your login status, analyzing usage patterns, and delivering personalized content. You can manage your Cookie preferences through your browser settings or the App's settings. Disabling Cookies may affect some features of the App. For example, you may need to log in manually each time you use the App.

Data Security & Content Protection Measures

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, such as encryption for data transmission and secure storage. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by law. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential. To prevent unauthorized copying and distribution of instructional content, the PoleRise App implements technical security measures, such as disabling screenshots and screen recording on supported devices. These features are designed to protect the intellectual property of instructors and maintain the integrity of the platform. Users must not attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with these protection mechanisms in any way. Any violation may result in account suspension or termination, and legal action may be taken in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

International Data Transfers

PoleRise operates globally, and your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. When you register, you will be asked to explicitly consent to the transfer of your data to countries outside your own, including the United States. We ensure that such transfers comply with applicable data protection laws, such as using Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

Third-Party Links

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services (e.g., payment processors). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that a child under 18 has provided information, we will delete it immediately and notify the child's parent or guardian, if required by law.

For California Users (CCPA)

You have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. PoleRise does not sell your personal information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of changes via the App or email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
